What is PHC?
Prostate Health Cocktail (PHC) is a clinically-tested daily nutraceutical for men, ages 40 plus. Formulated by a doctor, it improves and protects prostate health and male vitality. Since 2009, PHC has been the focus of an FDA-authorized patient study involving men with rising prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels, an early indication of developing prostate cancer. The ingredients in PHC have been scientifically shown to prevent prostate disease cell development and/or to reduce the symptoms of benign prostate enlargement, an uncomfortable condition affecting more than half of all men over 60.
Who developed PHC?
PHC was created by an internationally recognized oncologist and researcher, Jacek Pinski, MD, PhD. Dr. Pinski trained as a top research assistant to Nobel laureate Andrew Schally, a pioneer in hormone therapy for prostate cancer. Their collaborations focused on developing drugs to block testosterone production, the hormone linked to prostate cancer. Dr. Pinski is currently Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Medical Oncology at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC), where he combines clinical care with laboratory research on prostate cancer.
Who should take PHC?
Dr. Pinksi recommends that all men begin using PHC at age 40. Research done in laboratories worldwide has found that the select group of minerals, herbs, vitamins and isoflavanoids assembled in every capsule of PHC can significantly reduce a man’s risk of prostate disease. So for healthy men, PHC serves as effective protection of male urinary health and sexual vitality. Equally important, for those diagnosed with enlarged prostate, or even prostate disease, PHC may contribute to improved therapy outcomes.
Are there some men who should not use PHC?
There are no absolute contraindications for taking the nutraceutical. However men on blood-thinning medication, as well as those with a history of liver disease, should check with their physician before using PHC.
How does PHC help men with prostate cancer?
There is a substantial body of medical research to show that PHC ingredients can improve therapeutic outcome for men already diagnosed with the disease, sometimes even prompting “apoptosis” (prostate cancer cell death). So for men who have developed disease, PHC can be a powerful adjunct to traditional therapies (such as hormone ablation, chemotherapy and even radiation). What’s more, recently released interim results of an FDA-authorized clinical trial indicate that PHC may arrest (or even lower) a rising PSA in men with post-surgical recurrent prostate cancer.
How does PHC help with prostate enlargement?
Although not originally designed to treat prostate enlargement, PHC has been shown highly effective at relieving the urinary discomfort and frustration associated with BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia). More than half of all men age 60+ have an enlarged prostate, which causes urgency, frequent urination, weak stream and a fairly wide range of sexual/erectile dysfunction. A few years ago, Dr. Andreas Jungwirth (a urologist in Salzburg, Austria) decided to test the supplement on several of his own patients suffering from the condition. The results were very encouraging: on average, urgency decreased, urine flow increased and erectile function improved among the research group. Since then, PHC has grown more popular among men who want to forestall (or perhaps entirely prevent) the onset of BPH.
What are the ingredients in PHC?
The active ingredients are: EGCG (from Green Tea Extract), Selenium, Saw Palmetto Fruit Extract, Lycopene, Genistein, Daidzein, Vitamin D3 and Vitamin E. All these ingredients have been shown to enhance urinary health and sexual vitality in middle-age and older men. Dr. Pinski maintains that, taken in this unique combination, the ingredients in PHC act “synergistically,” each one enhancing the benefits of the others.
Do the ingredients in PHC cause any side effects?
PHC is not associated with any side effects in men generally. To date, a small number of users have reported mild constipation and stomach upset; flatulence; weakness and fatigue; and skin rashes.
How much PHC should be taken and how often?
Three (3) capsules daily is the recommended dose. The capsules can be taken with meals or on an empty stomach.
How long should a man take PHC?
A commitment to PHC is a commitment to your own urological health and vitality. Dr. Pinski recommends that PHC become a permanent, daily part of life for every man age 40 and beyond.
Can PHC interfere with chemotherapy or radiation?
Absolutely not! In fact, Dr. Pinski prescribes and monitors both these therapies—as well as many others--on a daily basis. He created PHC not as an alternative to such standard treatments, but as a safe and efficacious addition to existing therapies for men with prostate disease and those working to prevent it.
